Educational Programs
Mellow Meadows Authors is a small-group, homeschool enrichment class where writing workshop meets the nature school experience. Designed for ages roughly 6-8; narrative, persuasive, and informational writing is explored. Nature and the lives of the rescue animals serve as inspiration. This class meets September-May on Mondays.
Classroom Connections works with teachers to create an engaging learning experience by incorporating animal visits, stories, songs, presentations, and activities. Some sample topics include Animal Digestive Systems, Persuasive Letter Writing, and Animal Adjectives.
Educational programs are taught by Krisanna Adams, a TN certified teacher with 9 years of experience in public schools, followed by 5 years teaching at Ferntop Nature School.
Events
Are you looking for a little extra something for a birthday party, work picnic, church event, VBS, classroom, homeschool group, etc.? We love spreading joy and sharing the animals’ stories with the community by bringing little animals to visit you, or by hosting small groups at our farm. Donations from events and visits help us provide quality care to the residents at Mellow Meadows, and prepare us to say “yes” to more animals in need.
